Medicare Products

If you are approaching 65 and want to know more about Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage plans, and Part D Prescription Drug plans, you’ve come to the right place. At Valley Insurance, we are happy to sit down with you to explain the various options and help you choose the plans that are best for you.

Medicare Supplements, also known at Medigap plans, do just that – they supplement Medicare. There are 10 plans to choose from, Plan F being the most generous and the most expensive. As long as Medicare pays on a claim, the supplement will also pay. Depending on the Medicare Supplement you purchase, you could have little, if any, out-of-pocket expenses. When you turn 65, you have a six-month open enrollment for a Medicare Supplement, when no company can deny you coverage. So it is important to come see us when you are first eligible for Medicare.

When it comes to the Medicare Advantage plans, the county you live in dictates the plan you may buy. Some Medicare Advantage plans include prescription drug coverage; others do not. While the Medicare Advantage plans are generally not as good coverage as a Medicare Supplement, they are often less expensive. The Medicare specialists at Valley Insurance will help explain the differences so you can make an informed decision.

Medicare Drug Coverage

There are over 30 Part D prescription drug plans available in Oregon. Medicare recipients may receive prescription drug coverage by adding a Part D drug plan to a Medicare Supplement or through a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C). The ideal option for you will depend on your individual situation and the drugs you take. Let us explain deductibles, copays and the infamous “donut hole” or coverage gap. Our experienced agents will take the time to talk with you and help you choose the drug coverage that best fits your needs and budget.
